Hoppe - Locks Of Distinction

Hoppe locks are a very well known high-end door hardware brand originally designed and manufactured in Germany.

Friedrich Hoppe started the company in the mid 1950's and has built manufacturing facilities in many other European countries.

Built to very exacting standards, these high end residential entry systems are often found in patio door applications across the world.

Europeans generally install their keyhole upside down...
compared to standard lock and key systems found in the USA and other western countries. There is nothing wrong with this, however pin tumbler systems do require periodic maintenance and having the pins work against gravity can and does sometimes create key working issues.

Removing a Hoppe Euro cylinder requires, not only withdrawing the edge retainer screw, but also pulling the retainer spring in front of the inside thumbturn to allow the inside cam to locate (at the 6 o'clock position) correctly to withdraw the cylinder.

We recently provided a client with Bilock cylinders for installation into high-end Hoppe Hurricane resistant doors. they work simply and easily and have increased the security of the applications.
