Wireless Peephole/Video Intercom System - Answer The Door Without Answering The Door

Pictured above is the base station for a product aimed at the wireless video intercom market. A very popular search term that leads interested readers to this site, is "Wireless Peephole".

A wireless peephole is a product that enables an entry point to have the ability to identify a visitor remotely.

Lotshine are a company that research and develop intelligent and useful products aimed at the security/communications market. Specifically in assisting access rights to an entry, to authorized visitors through the use of video communication portals.

Using a Lotshine product, enables a user to have an internal video entry system that can be viewed at a centralized guard desk or an individual office or desk. The system also allows for independent users (receivers) to view and communicate with other users in the same system, similar to the wired intercom systems widely produced in the late 20th century.

Here is a picture of the video intercom unit that installs to the entry point (door) and the wireless handheld receiver/communicator.

A typical use for a product like this, might be in a secure facility to identify visually an authorized visitor, or a front door entry on a residence where the receiver usually requires to interrupt their activity to answer the door. Let's say you are having a function outside your home (around back) and constantly having to physically go to the door to let guests in becomes a nuisance. This wireless video intercom function comes into it's own. You can now answer the front door in person, without being there, while seeing, hearing and talking to your guest face to face before they can see you.

To be able to control the entry points locking system, it is necessary to install a controllable physical security product that can be wired to a release switch and hooked to the system. Then, the entry point can be controlled by virtually any user in the system. So, a bedridden person could potentially grant entry to a visitor after seeing, hearing and talking to them without getting out of bed.

I can think of multiple uses for a system of this type.
