Serrature Meroni products proudly introduce a completely new design of door latching product that is sure to change the door hardware and door lock industry.
The new technology allows for a conventional door lock to have an almost silent operating door latch with no visible lipped strike plate.
This improves the look of the fitting and increases the security as well, by having no bevelled latches, thereby preventing the loiding trick (using a card or screwdriver to push the latch back) on conventional latching door locks.
The video after the jump is in Italian and shows the new latching technology being used in the Proxima product (3:26). You can also see the latch being used with the fabulous Combina and Nova handles (1:11).
We believe this new advancement in the latching mechanism can be applied to many other products like the lock systems used on conventional aluminum framed glass shopfront doors. The use of this type of product is not advised with electric strikes.
We are discussing with Serrature Meroni's engineering department to produce a retrofit product to replace conventional aluminum frame glass door entrance locks, that will use no visible lipped strike plate. This will enhance the ambience of the fitting while providing a slightly higher mechanical security component.
Other enhancements to follow include electronic versions that can communicate wirelessly with your smartphones and provide for modern day electronic access control systems.
These simple, yet exciting developments keep Serrature Meroni on the cutting edge of nouveau door lock design.
We are continuing to see more and more demand across North America for Serrature Meroni products. yes there are other competing brands out there, but few that offer the appeal and price:quality offered by Serrature Meroni.
