Multi-Touch System To Contemporize Touch Screen Use.

About 3 years ago, Light Blue Optics, a UK based technology innovator, introduced a product that will redefine the nature of touch screen controls. The Light Touch™, is an image projector that allows for any surface to be converted into a touch screen.

When combined with recent research undertaken by a Purdue University team, whereby a multi-touch system using a computer, video projector and kinect camera, has shown that hand gestures and movement characteristics can be defined by the individual user, it is possible that such a system could lead to new access control solutions that increase security for sensitive openings/areas. Clopen - Hidden Safe In Your Bookshelf

The Clopen is a unique idea thought of and designed by Japanese architecture firm Torafu Architects.

This product looks like any conventional floating shelf. It is made from an aluminum frame that sports a thin piece of veneer to give it the "wood" look. It is locked using two magnets, one at each end. You are provided with two magnetic keys that need to be used simultaneously to release the catches.

A simple, yet elegant idea that combines aesthetic beauty with functionality.

It is attached to a wall with aluminum crossbars that are mounted securely. The shelf then attaches to the crossbars making what looks like a bracket-less shelf.

Securing your extra cash or documents will be a cinch with this intelligent product.

Keylet & Key Caddy by CREARRI - A Wallet And Keyring Combined

CREARRI is a small Orange County, California company created by Anthony Hoang and Nhu Truong.
These two young guys have successfully secured funding through Kickstarter for two unique products that will add style and function to users of wallets and keys.

Locksmiths will be quite interested in these products too, I suggest, as these are the kinds of products that would fit well with other accessory inventories that many locksmith companies offer. [video after the jump]

CTX Virtual Technologies Create Bluetooth Virtual Keyboard that Fits To Your Keying

CTX Virtual Technologies Inc. is a company that are building unique products designed to improve the user experiences for cellphone and tablet users who might enjoy using a regular keyboard as opposed to the sometimes awkward built in keyboards found in today's cellphones and tablets.

This particular product has recently started selling through Brookstone stores.

It is a keyring sized bluetooth connector that gives you the option of having a virtual keyboard at your fingertips. The virtual keyboard displays a laser outline of a full sized QWERTY keyboard in front of it, while an optical sensor track a users fingers as they type.

The unit's built-in lithium battery is designed to last for 2 hours and is USB rechargeable. The unit is about the same size as a Zippo lighter.

Fridge Locker - How To Stop Communal Refridgerator Thieves

Do you work in a large office environment? Do you live in share accomodations? If you answered yes to either of those questions, you more than likely have experienced food or drink theft. Usually, discussing with others can prove to solve these issues, but sometimes, no amount of persuasion can stop a hungry coworker or house mate with the munchies from getting into your private stash.

Until now, of course.

The fridge locker uses a combination catch, similar to a briefcase or steamer trunk lock, allowing you to secure your stash of nosherai from the prying hands of others.

I wish they had come out with this years ago

It reprints an article from another source about Cody Brocious, who discovered a rather simple hack for defeating the most commonly found hotel room door lock made by Onity.

The Society Of Professional Locksmiths Becomes A Leading Authority For The Locksmith Industry - Thanks To FDNY

The Society Of Professional Locksmiths

is an organization of professional locksmith owners and tradespersons whose intentions are to bring respect and admiration with ethical and moral business practises back to an industry that has seen the erosion of confidence in locksmiths, wane over the past few years, thanks to improprieties and shortcoming of other supposed industry organizations.

The SOPL is fast becoming the industry's leading respected voice, training facility and source of products and services, that the market and industry have long been seeking.

Unlike other locksmith industry organizations and training offerings, the SOPL developed their own superb in-house training guide and mentoring system that is second to none in the North American market.

FDNY Keys Sold on EBAY - The NY Post - Where there's Smoke, there's Fire

10/07/2012
On October 1st, 2012 a news story ran in the NY Post about a retired locksmith named Daniel Ferraris from New Jersey who sold a set of 5 keys on Ebay that were being called Masterkeys for the New York City Fire Department.

Source - http://www.nypost.com/p/news/local/lock_away_these_nyc_keys_g3PWCp3FzMapURRjyssJ4J

This apparently angered NY City officials and public advocate Bill DeBlasio who raised concerns over terrorism. Keywords such as being alarmed, angered, lives at risk, safety, and more surfaced. Calls to Home Land Security were even made!

DeBlasio himself went so far to say -  "We cannot let anyone sell the safety of over 8 million people so easily. Having these keys on the open market literally puts lives at risk. The billions we've spent on counter-terrorism have been severely undercut by this breech [sic]."

A NYFD lieutenant said, “This guy should be prosecuted for selling something like that."

How Many Locks Do I Have?

Many customers call me without reading the list of fees under Guide To Services on the right side of my blog homepage.

Simply put, calculate the total number of keyholes that you want to have re-keyed, multiply by 15, add 30 and your total will magically be revealed.

Too many people dont seem to realize that there is sometimes more than 1 keyhole on their door. Sometimes there are three (3) keyholes (two (2) outside and one (1) inside).

Sometimes an odd lock on a commercial door can require significantly more labor to remove and refit and consequently may cost a little more in labor.

While the arithmetic (math) is quite simple, sometimes people dont read English too well.

Lockitron - Turning Any Deadbolt Into Wireless Keyless Access

A new product about to hit the market, will likely change the world of access control. Lockitron is the brainchild of a few young guys who have perfected the ultimate deadbolt lock accessory.

View the video (after the jump) for a great and simple explanation of the product.

The beauty of this type of product is that it is designed to work with your existing deadbolt lock. I foresee many and varied applications for this and expect the locksmith industry to jump on the bandwagon fairly quicksmart.

This product, I suggest will almost completely eliminate the need to hand out a spare key to your home or office in future.

Applock - Securing Your Smartphone Apps

Applock is a free app for Android designed to do exactly what you think it does. It secures certain applications (or all) on your smartphone, preventing another user of your phone from messing up your stuff or playing without your permission.

According to a recent statistic I read on Cnet, 50% of Adults in the USA have smartphones today. We use them frequently throughout or days, checking emails, playing games, sending sms', using Google Maps (bad luck iPhoner's) but are you completely satisfied that your phone is secure, using just the initial PIN to start using it?

The ability to prevent certain apps from being used is a great complement to any smartphone. I only just installed it, but expect that i should be able to secure more than just the login screen.

Abus - Borgo 6000 Ecolution Recyclable Bicycle Lock

Abus Lock Mfg from Germany are a well known player in the world of security products, especially padlocks and high security key systems.

Many locksmiths, the world over, continue to rely on, swear by and resell Abus locks to often grateful consumers.

Their range of rekeyable padlocks are especially friendly to the locksmith industry.

This new idea is borne from a very green minded concept. With many consumers the world over, concerned about environmental impact, Abus decided to produce a stylish and modern ecologically friendly bicycle lock and add it to their already hugely popular Borgo range of bicycle locks.

When it comes time to retire the used lock, simply break down the components and send them to the recycling center.

Released as part of Abus' display booth at last month's Eurobike Show in Friedrichshafen, Germany, the product is said to be a "medium theft risk" product, meaning it most likely wont stand up to lengthy use and you could be recycling it a lot faster than intended.

Google Maps Vehicle Captures Burglar In The Act

Google's mapping vehicle, the one that travels the world taking panoramic pictures of roads and neighborhoods and that has also been the subject of privacy investigations, in recent times, has snapped this rather odd brazen image of an attempt to break in to a house in a suburban street in Warragul, Victoria Australia.

You can clearly see the perpetrator already has the window screen off and is about to climb into the home.

Hacker Beats The Worlds Most Prolific Hotel Room Door Lock

We found out about this exploit, about a month ago but were reluctant to post about it here because the company had not been informed of the fault in their product that allowed this simple hack to occur. We have since heard that Onity have produced a fix for the locks, however existing lock owners are required to purchase and install complete new hardware.
Cody Brocious estimates there are 4 million Onity HT locks worldwide

What's the password?
If, during your next hotel stay, you're met with a lock on your door like that pictured above, it's time for a conversation with management. This is an Onity HT series lock. Cody Brocious claims that the company has sold 10 million of its various locks to hoteliers, accounting for half of all locks worldwide, and appearing in one in three hotels. Described by Onity as its "flagship product," the HT series lock is its big seller: Brocious reckons there are 4 million HT series locks out there. Why does this matter? It matters because on July 24, Brocious took to the stage at the Black Hat conference in Las Vegas to demonstrate how to unlock one in a matter of milliseconds using gear you and I can buy off the shelf from Radioshack for under 50 bucks.
The problem is this. Each HT series lock includes a DC charger port on its underside. This is used by hotel staff not only to recharge the lock's batteries, but also to program the lock with the hotel's unique 32-bit sitecode. With a self-programmed Arduino board, a 5.6 k pull-up resistor, and a DC connector, you have the gear you need to talk to the lock. Obviously it's not as simple as sending an "Open Sesame" message to the lock—not quite, anyway. For that you'd need to know the 32-bit sitecode. How do you get the sitecode? Turns out you just ask the lock for it.
"Given an address, the lock will send back 16 bytes of memory from that point," Brocious explained on a slide from his July 24 presentation, entitledMy Arduino Can Beat Up Your Hotel Room Lock. And it transpires the the sitecode is stored at the same memory address on every single lock. No authentication is required to retrieve it. Bewilderingly, unlocking the door is as simple as feeding the sitecode back to the lock. Once your home-brew device is connected, Brocious claims the whole process of reading the memory to unlocking the door takes just 200 ms. Given access to spare key cards, the technique can also be used to program duplicate keys.

Tiltpod - Portable Camera Stand Keyring

Tiltpod is an incredibly intelligent idea borne in San Francisco (of course), by a couple of guys who wanted to both be in the picture without having to lug around a tripod.

Brilliant I say! Simple, elegant and so worth the meagre price. What a great gift idea.

The video says it all, but Kickstarter, the crowd sourcing funding group provided the financial backing to get off the ground.

I love the fact that it is, essentially, a key ring accessory and consequently qualifies as an unusual and unique product worthy of this blog. What do you think?

Lockwood 7444 Pocket/Cavity Door Lock - Installation Video

Many customers appear to be keen on this new addition to our inventory and until now I hadn't embedded the video installation procedures.

It is quite straightforward, but it does require the extra hole beneath the bolt assembly for the plunger handle.

If you intend to install this in place of an existing, similarly shaped pocket door privacy or passage set, be aware that you will need to drill the extra hole and check out for the faceplate.

Unlike our other very popular product the Cowdroy P697 Keyed Pocket/Cavity Sliding Door Lock which requires the whole edge of the door to be modified as shown in the installation instructions , the new product from Lockwood does seem like a better aesthetically looking product, no?

Aside from our samples of the Lockwood 7444 (for internal testing and marketing) we are yet to offer these for sale until inventory arrives from abroad. We will post a new article with a "buy now" button to enable quick purchase.

Proxima - Serrature Meroni Enters The Proximity Market

Serrature Meroni, the leading Italian unique door hardware solutions manufacturer have done it again. But this time they have released a simple and effective Proximity Card product that is wireless, standalone, easy to install and extremely economical.

Designed to work with the unique range of Serrature Meroni Push Button Handle Systems, this innovation will work easily with Nova Classico, Forma and Combina knobs, to provide an ergonomic, modern and stylish entry system that maximizes potential access control and electronic master-keying capabilities and combines this with handles that are especially easy to operate, suiting hotels, motels, hospitals, aged care centers etc.

One benefit of using the contact-less proximity card system is especially useful for arthritis sufferers and other developmentally challenged people who might suffer with disabilities or have difficulties using a conventional mechanical key. Simply place the coded proximity card near to the screen and the handle unlocks. How easy is that?

The use of color coded proximity cards, makes on-door programming an uncomplicated and simple task. You can add and delete users at will.

Being battery powered, there is no complicated wiring necessary, making this a simple and cost effective access control solution that is incredibly easy to install and simple to maintain.

4 AA batteries are used in each unit offering up to 3 years of use (depending on use frequency - of course).

Configuring your new Proxima system is very simple with the provided color coded cards. A separate codifier is available upon request (but is usually unnecessary)

Using Solar Power In Security Applications

The use of solar power as an alternate power source is getting a lot of attention these days, and rightfully so. Its ability to provide electricity in remote locations where running cable would be overly expensive makes solar power a feasible alternate power source – especially for CCTV and other surveillance applications.
I spend a lot of time educating our customers on the details of solar. Let’s discuss some of the key points to remember when considering a solar system.
First, let’s cover some basic math to use as a guideline and familiarize you with how current draw works.
(Current draw x 24 hours) / Peak hours of sunlight = Amperage required

Current draw – The amount of electricity required to provide power to an object. Current draw is measured in milliamps (mA) or amps (A).
In solar powered systems, every milliamp of current conserved saves money. It is important to think about the total current draw of an application and minimize draw where possible – especially with CCTV applications. For example, consider using a super low light camera instead of an IR bullet camera or consider using a fixed camera instead of a PTZ camera.
Peak hours of sunlight –People are often mistaken about the actual amount of sunlight they have during the day. Depending on the location in the hemisphere and the time of year, most people only receive between 3 and 5 hours of direct sunlight per day. This is why solar power is so popular in Arizona, Texas, Florida and other southern states.

Lockwood 7444 Keyed Pocket Door Lock - First Samples Arrived

In April this year we posted about Lockwood Australia's new 7444 Cavity (pocket) sliding door lock and have received numerous inquiries about it.

As the above video explains, this new product is tailored to allow easy onsite installation by a keen DIY'er or handyman (person).

Competitively priced, this product makes securing pocket/cavity sliding doors much easier.

The design of this style of lock is not made for replacement of the common square/rectangular pocket door catch, most common in the USA. The Cowdroy P697 Double Cylinder Pocket Door Lock is designed for that very purpose, to enable easy replacement of your existing pocket/cavity sliding door catch.

We just received our first samples of this new product and are putting it through our testing regimen.

The product comes in it's own blister pack that can be displayed easily on a hook. You will be required to cut the packaging to take the product apart, prior to installation.

It uses a 5 pin tumbler LW4 keyway, which is identical to the popular KW1 (Kwikset) key profile, prolific in the North American market. This means that the lock can be keyed alike with other similar branded keyway profiles. With a little modification, we can provide restricted key cylinders for use in a master keyed system.
The product cannot be keyed to Schlage or Yale keys at this time.

We are working out the final pricing details now and expect to sell this product for about $110.00 plus shipping.

(as you probably understand - many imported solutions incur significant duties and customs/shipping costs that directly impact the list/wholesale costs. Whereas, you may be able to purchase these products elsewhere abroad, whilst they may advertise a significantly cheaper price, it is important to remember that customs duties/shipping has not been included)

Yeti 1250 Solar Powered Generator

The Yeti 1250 Solar Powered Generator is not directly a security product or equivalent item that i usually write about in this blog.

However, being a professional locksmith tradesperson, with a mobile service vehicle and an array of machines and power tools that I require to use onsite, I need to run that equipment in my truck and sometimes away from the truck when there are no other power sources available.

I currently use a wired-in inverter to power my machines in the vehicle and this usually requires me to run the motor to keep the secondary battery I use charging.

I have been searching for a cost effective alternative to installing a professional truck generator that feeds directly from the gas tank (~$7,000 Installed) and this may well fit the bill.

It's not that i run a lot of machinery constantly, but my work truck gets pretty warm inside during summer and i would like to be able to have a refrigerator and air conditioning unit/fan that i could run separately from the vehicles power system and also enjoy the ability to operate power tools without having to run long extension cords.

As you can see in the promotional video above, there are multiple uses for this fantastic device. I think I have found the perfect item for my holiday wish list.

Arguably, this product could be an assist to any site that might want to run CCTV cameras remotely, like in a field (nowhere near available power) or to provide the power for a remote gate or door without digging trenches for running cables to grid power. So, perhaps you could use it as a backup power supply for security products?

MEM Mechanical Electro Magnetic Locking Devices

FSH are an Australian company at the forefront of design for electric locks, strikes and unique security locking devices. Trevor Mackle is a principal and leading engineer/designer with FSH and was awarded with the People's Choice Award from the ABC television program "The New Inventors", a couple of years ago.

A rather interesting video on their website shows the actual segment that explains how this product differs from mainstream electro magnetic locking devices.

The MEM is actually smaller than other brands but packs significantly better mechanical locking attributes and equal to superior holding force.

Compact enough to fit in a variety of applications, the product is light years ahead in technology and design. It is very user friendly and surpasses many international standards.

Low Glo Key Fob - Always On Flashlight

Our friends over at ThinkGeek have recently released this terrific unique product that is a Low Glo Key Fob.
Designed to enable one to have that torchlight always handy, this "always-on" low glow flashlight is designed with a non replaceable (need) LED that operates on a cell battery similar to the ones found in watches.

The "always-on" technology is a sensational idea because it is low glow, meaning it consumes very little power. When needed, simply press the button and the light will brighten for a period of time.

The keyring attachment means you can clip it to your keys or your tent zipper (for campers) or just anything else you fancy that extra little bit of light for.

They say the battery is designed to last for 1 year and is easily replaceable.

Boat enthusiasts are rejoicing thanks to this unique invention that secures virtually any accessory to your pleasurecraft.

The multitude of uses for this sensational product is limited only by your imagination. The product is made from marine grade materials that secures almost any accessory to your boat or work bench.

The intelligence of this product conveniently does away with the need for separate mounting assemblies for all your products.

Simply attach your accessory's mount to the steel plate and then lock the plate into the V-Lock™ bracket.

As seen in the video, there are virtually unlimited uses for this product. Securing your items has never been so easy.

Theft Recovery Microchips

Theft recovery microchips are a modernized version of the ages old microchip technology we have been using for many years in identifying pets or animals.

Similar in purpose to those types of devices, this tiny chip can be programmed with the owners information and contact details and then embedded in any tangible inanimate product. If that property or product should happen to be stolen, it would be possible to identify it easily and it's owner by scanning the device for the existence of the microchip.

This is certainly another useful device to aid authorities in finding the correct owner of a stolen item, no?

Hidden Bookshelf

Sometimes, securing your room or office is a very personal task. In the movies of the last century, many films used props that included secret passageways and secret doorways that were hidden by false walls or Hidden Bookshelves.

Now an enterprising manufacturer has made the Hidden Bookshelf concept available at a competitive price.

This product is made from your choice of Oak Wood, Maple Wood or Cherry Wood and uses a high strength rail and pelmet system to make the function and use easy to manipulate.

How private would you like to make your room (mancave)?

Hone For iPhone 4S

Misplacing your keys is definitely not a fun activity. It is one of those things that happens to a great many of us.

I am a locksmith, but I am constantly placing my keys somewhere and forgetting where i put them. Or they fall between the cushions on the couch (when I fall asleep, there) and when I want to leave in a hurry it is painful to have to spend an extra 15 minutes (or more) searching for them.

There are multiple offerings that enable you to locate your keys, but the Hone For iPhone 4S as shown in the above video is a new idea that simply works with the planets leading smartphone.

Anyone recognize the smokin hot brunette comedienne in the video? (Wasnt she in that TV sitcom "2 Broke Girls"?)

Home Invasion Statistics Across USA

Home invasions across the USA are increasing supposedly due to the poor economy and the ease at which perpetrators are learning to ply their trade, thanks in part to the enormous amount of information spreading across the internet.

There are a few companies here that are producing unique quality products aimed at preventing home invasions and identifying criminals.

StranDNA is one such company that produce a modern itteration of the ages old door chain.

Strikemaster II is produced by A Safe Homes International, designed to repair a broken door frame casing while at the same time preventing future door kick ins.

OnGard Door Brace is produced by an Atlanta based company designed to prevent door entry.

Bilock is an internationally acclaimed guaranteed 100% bump proof and virtually pick proof key system with keys that cannot be copied.

Many of the above products cannot be purchased at the big box stores, only from approved industry professional locksmith companies.

For further information on any of the above listed products, please contact us at your convenience.

Chain Reaction DNA - 21st Century Door Security Chain

StranDNA are a United Kingdom based company that have re-invented the humble door chain, found across the world for the past couple of centuries.

This intelligent device provides two distinct differences from the humble door chain of yesteryear.
A) A 110db piercing alarm at the point of entry.
B) Sprays a UV mist with a unique DNA

The law enforcement agencies across the world have been using modern forensic technologies for the last few decades to identify perpetrators of crimes. But speedy results have been difficult to achieve until recent developments in DNA sequencing.

StranDNA have produced a replaceable canister that is easily installed into the unit. The fluid/mist, when encountering the perpetrator, leaves a unique identifiable DNA trace that remains active for up to 3 months (based on exfoliation)

The Society Of Professional Locksmiths is the USA based approved instructor of especially trained and permitted StranDNA products.

Criminal defense attorneys in the USA will have an unsurmountable burden of proof to dissuade a court of their clients involvement in a crime, when the DNA product clearly provides investigators with conclusive proof of their involvement, dramatically reducing lengthy investigations and reducing the costs for local law enforcement agencies to provide incontrovertible evidence of involvement.

Soon to be released in the USA, only approved installers trained by the Society Of Professional Locksmiths will be able to help residents and tenants and also local law enforcement departments effectively reduce crimes.

Light Bulb Key Ring

People who receive a service call from me often are delighted when I give them a little LED keyring with my name, phone number and website on it. I used to hand out business cards until I woke up and realized that the reason I rarely received business from those cardholders was because the cards were too easy to get lost or trashed.

An innovative company has produced a miniature version of a flashlight that is novel and different to the norm.

The Light Bulb Keyring operates on 4 replaceable cell batteries and fits easily on your keyring.

Ladies fumbling though their pocket book in a dark spot can now do so with this small unobtrusive flashlight.

WeMo - Home Automation Just Got Smarter

WeMo is a new product just released by Belkin, designed to make home automation more accessible to the masses.
With the quantity of devices in use in our homes today, many users would enjoy the convenience of 24/7 access to their appliances.

The video above explains it well.

Why do I post this here? Many security products today are electrically powered and often users forget to set them or switch them on.  I believe that lighting is an integral part of your homes security and therefore should be included in modern intelligent security systems. Controlling your appliances remotely can only serve to enhance your home security as well as making your life easier.

Installing Serrature Meroni Classroom Knobset To Classroom Doors

About 6 months ago we completed installation of about 40 new Serrature Meroni Combina K17 Handle sets in place of the existing (and comparatively more expensive) Arrow and Schlage grade 1 handle sets.

$ for $ comparison pitted the Meroni hardware at about half the cost of the other more widely recognized brand names. (Including installation costs)

The first video above, shows the handle set just after it was initially installed before the final inside cover was installed.

We used Don-Jo scar plates to cover the 2-1/8" crossbore holes allowing the Combina hardware to easily and securely fit.

KOMO Seattle Report On Locksmiths

The video here is a follow up to a KOMO Seattle news segment that generated a significant amount of chatter among the wider locksmith community around Seattle and other cities across America.

This segment offers a insight into an independent consumer magazine that runs a non-profit consumer reporting publication called Checkbook.org. This particular Checkbook listing involves locksmiths in the Seattle area.

The quantity of reported reputeable locksmiths seems rather high in my opinion. Perhaps because there is little to no regulation or gazetted qualifications for locksmiths, almost any person (or their brother or sister) can call themselves a locksmith and go out a ply the trade. Charlie M. (St Louis, MO) November 2015

Danny was pleasure to meet and was very knowledgable. He explained several lock replacement options but I decided none of them were a good fit for a storm door, however, I did replace a lock on my entry door with a type of lock I had never seen before. I would highly recommend this company.
Patricia J (Bridgeton, MO) March 2014
They were prompt and showed up when he said he would show up. He knew his stuff. I had ordered new handles and he was honest enough to say that we don't need them that he can fix the doors and he did. Made me lock and unlock my doors to his satisfaction so that I knew what to do. Am very, very pleased with the service and cost.
Joyce K (Glencoe, MO) May 2015

Showed up on time for appointment. Was very knowledgeable about the project and offered a solution beyond what I asked to be done.
Stephen G (Chesterfield, MO) May 2015

Daniel was right on time, assessed the problems I had with two doors, made the repairs, and explained what caused the problems to begin with .... He is a "door expert" and a true professional. I highly recommend him.

Vince V (St. Louis MO) May, 2015

Danny was fabulous! He went over my concerns and he provided me with more than a fair quote. He was there when he said he was going to be there. I would highly recommend Danny. Cheers!
Denise S (Imperial, MO) May 8, 2014

Hired Danny to re-key locks on "new" house purchase. He advised to replace with new deadbolts & door knobs on 3 entry doors instead which I agreed with. All doors have 1 matching key & the safety of excellent quality product & workmanship. He also added new strike plate to door frame to complete project.. I recommend as your 1st & only call to a Locksmith.

Denise F (St. Louis, MO) April 3, 2014

Scott C (Eureka, MO) March 27, 2014

Needed patio door track to run smoothly. Arrived early, fixed door and explained what he was doing during repair. Quick and easy. Door works great, my wife will now speak to me, and I've become a better dancer.

Mike W. (Arnold/Oakville MO) July 2013

The owner spent a longtime with me on the phone helping diagnosis the problem. He was on-time, friendly and helped resolve my issue. I will definitely use him again!

Chris C (Lake St Louis, MO) July 2013

I had a very pleasant experience with Master Key Systems. They came out, did the job (which took longer than expected) and they did not change the price they quoted me. Now, I am not certain that it was a great value for the money because I don't have a comparison, but they did what they said, when they said, for the price they said. Enough said!!!

Antonio B (Saint Louis, Missouri) March 2013

Professional.. Upfront about charges. Fixed the sticky door within 20 minutes. I will recommend Master Key for exterior door issues.
Muthu R (Ballwin, MO) July 2012

Danny was a master craftsman, knowledgable and professional. I will be calling on him again in the future as well as passing on his services to friends and family.

Marsha L (Saint Louis, MO) July 2012

Danny was excellent! I called him on a Monday to fix a sliding glass door. He happened to have the exact part we needed (and it was not an easy find - we had looked everywhere) and he came over Tuesday evening. He stayed until 8:00 until the job was done, and cleaned up afterwards. He was courteous, professional, and efficient! I could not be happier!

Rachel P Maryland Heights, MO (July 2012)

He did an excellent job. Got there on time and quickly solved the issue. Was very pleasant and explained the situation and how to keep the door from sticking in the future. Would definitely use Master Key LLC again!

Neil F. (Saint Louis, MO) April 2012

Danny was very friendly and knowledgeable, although his apprentice seemed to do most of the work, Danny kept an eye on him to make sure it was done right. He had very reasonable pricing for re-keying.
Greg D (St Louis, MO) October 2011

He was extrememly fabulous and helpful and did a wonderful job. He was very professional.
Shannon M. (Arnold, MO) October 2011

Growing up spending so much of my time in Italy, the uniqueness of the Nova Classico left quite an impression on me. To be able to have and enjoy them in my own home here in the states is a nostalgic indulgence I'm enjoying beyond words. Thank you Danny for coordinating this transaction.

Joseph M (Chicago, IL) September 2011

Ron B (Arnold, MO) July 2011

I searched the internet and found your services. I received three phone calls within several days. A service call was scheduled. Two gentlemen arrived promptly, analyzed the problem and fixed it.
James & Florenc M Saint Louis, MO July 2011

The repairman was on time and did an excellent job of fixing a very stubborn door lock. He was persistent and cleaned up the work area afterwards. I would use this service again.

Brenda F (Saint Peters, MO) June 2011

Danny at Master Key Systems has succeeded in making the purchasing of our Meroni door locks, from Italy, an absolute breeze. Even though I live in Australia with a 16hr time difference and was ordering door knobs from Italy that weren't in stock, the whole process was faultless. Danny was prompt and efficient with all his emails and made sure we had covered every possible variable so that the product I received was exactly as required. I would have no hesitation in recommending Danny for your next purchase.
Patrick Carr (Canberra, Australia)

Your product really helped because I needed to secure a nurse's station adjacent to a waiting room and needed a pocket door. Unfortunately, no real options were available to lock a pocket door effectively that would keep me compliant with HIPAA and secure an area that stores medical supplies. This was vitally important as this particular waiting room was for "waiting detox patients". Thank you very much.
Randall R The Fritz Clinic (Birmingham, Al) March 2011

Danny was very polite and knew what the problem was and how to fix it. He also gave me some information about other issues that could arise with my door and locks. Will hire again if I ever need that type of work done.
Jason M Imperial, MO March 2011

I had an exterior basement door that dragged when opening and closing. The hinges were not fitting properly and the door frame had shifted, probably due to the age of the house. The screwswould not go far enough into the wall without hitting stone...even using a special drill bit. Dan worked a long time drilling and sanding to shore up the door as best as possible. I know it will never be perfect. He could have easily sold me a new door and the same issue would happen. He was honest, thorough, and did an excellent job without charging me a fortune. I'm satisfied with the door now. If you want an honest, experienced man, Then Dan is the man

Roger M Saint Louis, MO March 2011

I purchased the Cowdroy P697 Pocket door lock with key over the internet. I emailed questions before my purchase and was provided with the answers quickly by return email. The purchase was quick and easy and the lock was shipped immediatly. Installation is quick and easy. But you do need to convert millimeters to inches (use the internet) in the installation instructions. And the lock looks great and works great. I will do business with them again. THANK YOU
